The third novel of British novelist, playwright, and poet, William Golding, who is best known for his debut novel Lord of the Flies. He was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Noted for the existential themes in a minimalistic setting, this novel follows the survival and psychophysical plight of a navy lieutenant who believes himself to be the sole survivor of a military torpedo destroyer which sinks in the North Atlantic Ocean.


CONDITION

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also very smart with minor chipping to the extremities and sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot.
